Day 2 – Final day at Total Facilities

Chat bots, drone technology, energy innovations – just some of the smarter solutions shaping the future of the FM industry. And now that the doors have closed on the final day of 2018, it's official, Australia’s single most important event for FM professionals has enjoyed its biggest event in Total Facilities history. 

The event welcomed record numbers in Total Facilities history seeing almost 3000 industry professionals participate in this leading FM forum. With visitor numbers up 12% from last year’s event it was standing-room only at the popular speaker sessions with thought leaders sharing their expert insight to overflowing crowds.

Over the past 2 days, Melbourne’s Convention and Exhibition Centre welcomed FM thought leaders and industry professionals for an amazing turnout to Australia’s single most important facilities management event. Renowned experts, academics and thought leaders shared practical insight into the industry’s top challenges and opportunities, with over 150 brands including DysondormakabaASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems and Service Works Global unveiling the latest and most innovative FM products and services on the exhibition floor.

This year big industry names such as Karcher, Honeywell, Smart Cities Council and Norman Disney & Young competed for audience attention in packed-out education theatres with smart start-ups such as Zen Ecosytems, strata.com and Spillz showcasing their new and innovative designs and services. Over 75 leading industry specialists and thought leaders from multiple sectors shared their cutting-edge solutions for creating more efficient, cleaner, greener, safer and more secure buildings of the future.

Providing the year’s best opportunity to discover the latest smart ways to create smarter buildings in one exciting venue Total Facilities hosted a thriving event and marketplace for FM buyers and suppliers bringing together professionals and innovative businesses with a focus on exploring strategies to optimise facility and workplace performance.

2018 event highlights include:

  • The announcement of the Best Bathroom of the Year on Day One saw Sydney’s Merrylands RSL take out the top prize, being awarded the finest public facility in the country by first-time sponsor Initial
  • The Speaker Series, 10am to 4.15pm, in the TAGTEAM Business Solutions Stage and the Kone Smart Buildings Theatre. Featured an impressive lineup of over 75 industry professionals revealing the latest solutions and strategies including tips for repurposing and regenerating buildings, enhancing wellness at work, improving energy efficiency, reducing waste, and protecting buildings from cyber attacks.
  • Exciting new product launches from industry leaders including the much-anticipated launch of the new Dyson Airblade Wash+Dry Hand Dryer at the Dyson Stand. Strata.com unveiled their automated concierge assistant (or chatbot) for residents to get help and access useful building information. Schneider Electric impressed visitors with live demos of their award-winning, cloud-based energy and sustainability platform EcoStruxure Resource Advisor.
  • Behind the scene’s tours of the MCEC. Visitors enjoyed guided tour of this high-performance building showcasing an array of smart features.
