Day 1 – Today at Total Facilities

The doors have now officially opened for Total Facilities 2018 and Day 1 has seen our biggest opening day in Total Facilities history. Go the for parma, stay for the loo -Best Bathroom winner announced

With seven luxurious, private female cubicles with individual basins, stylish accessories and inlay metallic bronze feature tiles, Merrylands RSL was today named Australia’s Best Bathroom -brought to you by Initial.

“We are delighted to be announced the 2018 winners,” said Steve Brady, Facilities Manager Merrylands RSL. “A huge amount of time and effort went into this project in terms of presentation, functionality, safety and efficiency. We are proud to have delivered an award-winning world-class facility.”

Savvy start-ups shine

Realtime reporting is changing the way FMs approach their asset management and Strata.chat is championing the use of chatbots to transform strata service. Not only saving property managers time, but making them more efficient and responsive to resident enquiries. See the on Stand H14.

Meanwhile, Zen Ecosystems want to help FMs will multiple sites reduce their energy bills by helping them take control of their lighting, HAVC and energy consumption. Their energy management platform integrates with building thermosats, so FMs can work smarter not harder for lower costs See them on Stand H17.

Sounding out FM

Dulux today launched their ‘Acousticoat’ for ceiling restoration. The paint is a cost-effective alternative to acoustic ceiling tile replacement and could be a game changer in the industry. See them on Stand A7.

Plantronic’s Habitat Soundscaping Solution are making open office actually work by creating an environment that promotes collaboration and concentration. The Habitat Soundscaping service combines ambient sounds with lush visuals to transform an open office into an intelligent, multisensory experience that facilitate teamwork and focus. ‘Hear’ them on A37.

Standing room only

In the words of David Baggs, CEO and Program Director Global GreenTag today’s education was  “Full and overflowing…[had]great content…and great feedback from the audience…”. Neil Savery from the Australian Building Codes Board explored the many benefits of energy reduction in the built environment and how efficiencies in energy consumption can achieve positive outcomes and everyone agreed that Cyber Security is no longer just and IT and FM issue – it’s a whole building issue and that was just the start of the insights. It was standing room only for both theatres throughout the day and with an exciting program still to come tomorrow, you’ll want to get there early to nab a seat. See the full program here.
