Musgrave Hill Bowls Club in Southport on the Gold Coast and The North Haven Bowling and Recreation Club on the New South Wales Mid North Coast, have both recently purchased a Powerstar voltage optimisation unit.

Musgravce Hills Bowls Club has recently installed a Powerstar voltage optimisation unit and is expected to achieve a 10% reduction in electricity usage. Brian Baldwin, Secretary/Manager from the newly renovated Gold Coast bowls club said the Club originally conducted considerable investigations on solar as a way to reduce power usage. “However, we discounted that option and after looking at voltage optimisation and various cases presented to us, a Powerstar VO unit appeared to achieve the best results, or as good as we could get.

“Installation of the 226 kVA system went smoothly and without checking the figures it’s looking a promising start to its operation,” Brian said.
The North Haven Bowling & Recreation Club on the New South Wales Mid North Coast has purchased a 288 kVa Powerstar unit. The Club’s Secretary Manager, Peter Negus, said they decided on Powerstar because EMSc Powerstar Australia guaranteed what the Club’s savings would be for the first 12 months of operation and the short return on investment of just 1.5 years.

At the time of writing, the Club is eagerly awaiting its first power bill since its installation to verify the savings that have been promised. Peter said the installation in early October went really well with their local electrical contractor installing the unit.

“We are a progressive Club and when the Board first considered the benefits that voltage optimisation could deliver, in the end it was a pretty easy decision to make.”
