Beautifully designed recycling from Method

The new 20L bins from Method Recycling are designed for smaller shared spaces such as boardrooms, kitchenettes, studios - or anywhere you'd find a lone general waste bin.

At Total Facilities 2020, Method will be showcasing the latest addition to their innovative system – the Method Twenty. A 20-litre bin designed for smaller shared spaces such as meeting rooms, studios, kitchenettes – anywhere the Sixty is simply too big but is normally serviced by a lone general waste bin.

What’s new with the Method Twenty

Method’s recycling system has found continued success based on the belief that beautifully designed recycling and waste bins placed consistently and visibly throughout a workplace have the ability to change recycling behaviours. Now, the introduction of the Method Twenty to this system will help organisations to introduce beautiful recycling habits into every space.

The bins (sixty or twenty litre) are placed together to form flexible recycling stations. The sixties are for large open-plan spaces such as the office floor or kitchens, and the twenties are for
smaller shared spaces such as meeting rooms, studios and kitchenettes. Key to the success of the Method system is removing easy general waste options such as desk bins. Instead, Method have designed Desktop Precyclers that encourage the separation of paper, recycling and waste at the desk before emptying them to the nearest station. Similarly, the new Twenty bin allows at-source separation in small spaces that tend to be served only by lone general waste bins.

Behaviour changing bins

Method is a recycling a waste system that helps organisations to consider all aspects of recycling and waste processes. From bin placement to who collects the waste and recycling it all works together to maximise results.

The bins design is informed by extensive research into the needs of users and feature intelligent design such as the patented Bag Retainer System that holds liners in place while hiding them
from sight. Making the bins easy and hygenic to service and maintaining the clean aesthetic of the bins. Method’s products are designed to make an impact on your recycling rates and not the environment. The bins are made from 50% recycled materials and they’re fully recyclable at the end of their life. Meaning that they can be recycled into bins again and again without degrading the quality of the materials. Method are proudly BCorp certified, working to maintain the needs of people and the environment across their business practices.

Sustainability in the office

Method’s innovative bins are in the process of being rolled out across The Office Groups 40+ co-working spaces in London. Bringing the beautiful bins consistently across all of their locations and spaces helps to make recycling an unconscious behavior for their clients.

Method has worked with leading organisations around the world including the Sydney Cricket Ground, Qantas, Canva, Foster + Partners and many more. Xero introduced Method bins as they moved to their new, beautifully designed HQ in Wellington. Sarah Reading, Xero’s Facilities Manager found that “Method bins are easily moved around the office space, making it simple to change where the bins are placed based on feedback from staff.”
